Meet AFP Marketing Growth Consultant, Pat Altvater
Honors and Certificates
In the fall of 2017, I was selected to be one of just 21 individuals speaking as part of the World Influencers Conference Summit. What an honor! It was my pleasure to offer my wisdom on how to build a business and a following and make a difference in the world by being a heart-centered entrepreneur.
I am an entrepreneur at heart and love working with others who are the same. I left corporate America almost 20 years ago and haven’t looked back. I was a Vice President of Sales for an accounting/budgeting software company when I decided to take the plunge into entrepreneurship full time. Prior to that, I spent almost 20 years in education, while married to a Dentist, teaching at the college level and working as a trainer for a corporate training business part-time.
My first foray into business ownership started when I became a franchisee. A partner and I owned 10 locations of the fitness franchise, Curves for Women from 2002 until 2009. It ended badly; I learned that I like to be in control of my destiny too much to be a franchisee, subject to someone else’s directives. However, it was during those years that I developed my love of marketing.
In 2010, I started exploring what it takes to be an expert on the Internet. This knowledge led to the creation of AFP Marketing, and the BizTV Shows® network brand, now called Elite Experts Network, which features local experts providing quick tip videos to help small to mid-sized business owners either grow their business or improve their quality of life. We also offer the experts the opportunity to showcase their expertise in print, in our digital magazine, Soar to Success.
Overtime, our clients asked for more, which led to an exciting transformation as our video production agency became full service, embracing the world of growth consulting, strategic marketing planning, digital marketing, marketing automation, and content marketing.
I am a member of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and over the past seven years have served on the Board of the Cleveland Chapter as Director of Marketing, Director of Programming, President and Past President.
My education, if you care about that – it was many moons ago, includes a master’s degree in Accountancy from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s in Human Resources from Michigan State University.

As the President of Back 9 Media Group, a brand of AFP Marketing, I am the Publisher of Ohio Golf Journal and Michigan Golf Journal, monthly digital magazines that feature interesting articles from a variety of writers on Instruction, News, Views, Travel, Equipment, History and Editorial content about Golf.
Using the video expertise of AFP Marketing, I host a video show on Roku, Back 9 Report TV, with interviews and travel pieces popular with golfers of all ages.
I also co-host the weekly golf talk radio show, Back 9 Report, that can be heard Live every Tuesday evening or downloaded on Blogtalk, TuneIn, ITunes and GNN Radio. My co-host, Carlos Torres, and I cover anything and everything golf. We put our unique spin on current golf news, review past tournament action and preview upcoming golf events.
One of my greatest joys is teaching the game to every level of golfer; I am a USGTF Golf Instructor and provide lessons in the Toledo area.
I am a member of the Golf Writers of America Association (GWAA) and the International Network of Golf.
I am also one of the videographers on the AFP Marketing team.
I am the video and audio production manager and chief editor as well as a partner in AFP Marketing.
As the main editor and producer of the videos that we create for our clients, I enjoy trying out new techniques and pushing the envelope on green screen editing. I also create graphic designs and b-roll when needed for projects.
I also am in charge of our technology and equipment and make sure we stay up-to-date with new technology that could improve our operations. As we expand into new areas, such as ROKU and podcasting, I am responsible for handling the technical aspects of the set-up.
I studied web design and network communications at Baker College.
I’ve worked with my Mom since early 2012 – that’s amazing, isn’t it?

I am the newest member of the family to join the AFP Marketing team. I am a sophomore in high school and will be getting my driver’s license soon.
Here at AFP, I help my Grandma with blog postings, writing tweets, working on LinkedIn and building or updating websites. I like the variety of the jobs she gives me.
In my spare time I like playing games with my family, hiking and of course, playing video games. I also enjoy watching interesting YouTube videos.
